One of the fundamental things of Holland industry is flowers. Such flowers as tulips acquired here their second house and real paradise on earth. But this state has not much in common with the emergence of these amazing blooms. The Caucasus, China and Mongolia are those places that we may call native land of these blooms. So, you can still find there savage congeners of tulips. From the Caucasus, they have begun to move in the direction of Europe. The first location of emergence of varietal tulips was Turkey. Persons loved to make large beautiful images from tulips in the gardens of Istanbul. The Austrian ambassador noticed them in 1550. Then 2 scholars Conrad Gesner and Carolus Clusius met tulips and described over 50 variants of them. Carolus Clusius was the head of the garden herbs of Emperor Maximilian II. And that Clusius received a suggestion from Holland to lead the garden herbs in Leiden University, moved from Vienna and brought seeds and bulbs with him.

Lots of horticulturists really liked those flowers and became really concerned in their growing. Some persons even stole blooms from Clusius' garden. They took them to Vienna and Prague, but still nobody already might leave behind Holland in floriculture.

There began real madness in the country. People weighted the flowers on medical weights. But after some time the madness stopped. The markets became overfilled with blooms and all the customers that were willing to buy those flowers yesterday disappeared. Many people came to ruin - their money was invested in the flowers, which couldn't be sold for yesterday's cost anymore. But the passion of Holland people to flowers still remained.
